Seen dribbling forward during road action last season at Ridgway, Brianna Henderson (10) is presently one of numerous Lady Bobcat seniors who were waiting on CHSAA’s decision on whether or not they’ll be able to play at all this spring due to lingering coronavirus concerns.

Short season vaguely possible for Lady ’Cats

Charlize Valdez (5) begins the final hill with nothing but open air ahead of her Friday afternoon, Aug. 23, at Dolores High’s inaugural Boggy Draw Bear Chase.  Also, a volleyball player for IHS, Valdez earned the young Lady Bobcat program’s first-ever individual title at the meet.

IHS harriers make history at first 2019 meet

Flanked by father Travis (left) and mother Sheila (right), Ignacio High Schoolers Avaleena and Jonas Nanaeto will both be competing at the CHSAA Cross-Country State Championships in Colorado Springs, Oct. 27. Avaleena will run for IHS in the Class 2A girls’ race, while Jonas (as well as fellow IHS athlete Elco Garcia, Jr.) will run in the 3A boys’ feature, being part of Bayfield High’s roster.
