Richards recognized in soccer
Flanked at left by Bayfield junior-varsity coach Jesse Larson and at right by BHS Boys’ Soccer head coach Cody Kiss, senior Armando Richards (22) stands with family members while recognized for his four seasons with the Wolverines during halftime of 3A Bayfield’s varsity match Saturday, Oct. 3, against non-league 2A Ridgway. Fellow senior and JV/varsity teammate Jesse Vega (second from right) was inactive for the match but took part in the moment – during which BHS’ coaches and as many players as possible donned red practice ‘pennies’ over their purple jerseys in honor of the two Ignacio High School student-athletes. After play resumed, the Wolverine varsity went on to defeat the Demons 1-0.
