Obituary: Deanna Beth Frost

FROST – Deanna Beth Frost was born on May 30, 1982 in Aberdeen, Washington to Byron and Etta Frost.

Ms. Frost was a member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. She attended a Private School in Colorado Springs and graduated in 2001. From there she studied Visual Communications at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Pivot Point Academy of Chicago where she obtained her Cosmetology License in 2005. 

She was the Boxing Event Coordinator for Left Hook Promotions, she coordinated successful boxing events with her brother Brian and her father. 

Ms. Frost came from a Spiritual Family both on her Frost and Red side. Her Father is the Sundance Chief for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. Ms. Frost was very honored to help feed the people during Sundance time. 

In her younger years Ms. Frost was an Ambassador for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and held the titles of Little Miss Southern Ute, and when she got older, Miss Southern Ute. Ms. Frost also held the title, Miss Indian Colorado. She was a traditional dancer and enjoyed Powwows. 

Ms. Frost passion was to help her people by making sure they knew about nutrition, and she coordinated programs by making cooking videos and recipes when she was the Apprentice Director for the Shining Mountain Health and Wellness. She also coordinated the program, Train-the-Trainer with Cooking Matters and was a Community Organizer Fellow at Growing Partners of Southwest Colorado. She was the current Manager of Food Distribution, and she loved her staff and wanted to see them be successful! 

Deanna’s Pride and Joy were her two boys, Richard and Ivan whom she loved dearly! She was an awesome role model and mother, she made sure her boys got the best education and showed them opportunities off the reservation by traveling with them. She was the backbone of her family and took care of them all! 

Ms. Frost had an infectious smile and loved to laugh and tease her friends, especially her sister-cousin Tara! She always made sure to show her friends how much she celebrated them by throwing the BEST birthday parties, even if she had to travel the World to see them! Ms. Frost was the “meat and cheese” and will be missed dearly!

Ms. Frost left this Earth to be with the Creator on May 23, 2021. She leaves behind her two beautiful boys, Richard Jack and Ivan Bent Joseph. Her Parents, Byron and Etta Frost, her older brother Brian Frost, and a huge family, all which loved her very much! She is preceded in death by her younger brother Aaron Jack Frost.

Services for Deanna were held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Hood Mortuary, Durango. A viewing was held, with funeral services. Cremation will take place.
