KSUT welcomes Diné filmmaker Ashley as Tribal Media Center coordinator

Southern Ute elder, Eddie Box Jr., speaks with KSUT Tribal Radio Station Manager Sheila Nanaeto live in-studio, Monday, Oct. 19, which was simulcast on both KSUT Tribal radio and KSUT Four Corners Radio. Box said a prayer and gave a ‘virtual welcome.’ Box spoke briefly of the history of KSUT and thanked those involved in the process of getting KSUT into the new building - the Southern Ute Tribe, KSUT staff, KSUT Board and the listeners. The new building bears his name as the Eddie Box Jr. Media Center.

KSUT staff digs the new digs

KSUT Executive Director, Tami Graham emphasizes the multitude of benefits that each aspect of KSUT’s new facility will provide, from updated broadcasting and recording equipment to climate-controlled workspaces. Southern Ute Tribal Council toured the new facility Tuesday, March 10 to see the Media Center first hand.

The Supersuckers, dubbed as “The greatest rock-n-roll band in the world,” graced the KSUT Studio for a live set and on-air interview, as part of the 30-year anniversary tour. Frontman Eddie Spaghetti spoke about the band's unique approach to rockin' hard after three decades, their new album, and his recent bout with throat cancer.
