Celebrating with our Ute Sister Tribes

The Southern Ute Bear Dance Powwow filled the Sky Ute Casino Resort’s Event Center on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24. The powwow featured gourd dancing, three Grand Entries, contest dancing and singing, and many special contests including a Veteran’s special ahead of the Memorial Day Holiday. All three Ute Sister Tribes were represented in the head staff comprised of all Ute members in each position, from emcee to host drums. Dance competitions were open to all, featuring tiny tots through golden age categories.
