A bit of the Christmas spirit hits Ignacio

Southern Ute Royalty smile with Santa at the Taste of an Old Fashioned Christmas, Friday, Dec. 4 at the ELHI Community Center. The event had numerous vendors selling arts and crafts as well as baked goods. There was also Christmas ornament making and a gingerbread house contest. Many bowls were made for the Fill Your Bowl For Art Fundraiser that was hosted by the Dancing Spirit Community Arts Center on Dec. 4 at the ELHI Community Center.
The spirit of Christmas touches all ages as community members judged gingerbread houses at the contest at the Taste of an Old Fashioned Christmas.

Ignacio High School band, Jealousy’ perform during the Taste of an Old Fashioned Christmas event in the ELHI Community Center Friday, Dec. 4. The band performed various songs including a cover of Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’.
Families congregated to make Christmas ornaments. The Hendren and Cloud family look busy making their ornaments.
Los Colores de Ignacio performed various dances.
Vendors sold their wares, arts and crafts, beadwork, and baked goods were the hit of the evening.

Families gathered to take the famous “pic” with Santa at the Ignacio’s Taste of an Old-Fashioned Christmas. The Boys and Girls Club of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe was taking pictures for the community members and sending them off with the memento.

Community members gathered for some Christmas fun at the ELHI Community Center on Dec. 4 for this year’s Taste of an Old-Fashioned Christmas. Hot chocolate, cookies, photos, crafts and horse carriage rides were just a few of the attractions. Kids also got to meet Santa, get their faces painted and enjoy the musical performances.
