20 Years Ago: On March 26, 2002, Tim Ryder led a drum making workshop for Ignacio youth at the Southern Ute Cultural Center. It was part of a week-long series of activities entitled “Beads, Looms and Feathers.” Pictured is Tim Ryder and Victor (Bear) Frost explaining to participants how to make mini drums.

20 Years Ago: During the Rollin’ Deep Car Show, cars, bikes and trikes were on display and a concert featuring NBK was held on the Tribal Campus in Ignacio on Aug. 5. Rollin’ Deep president Manuel Myore (far left) and Vice-president Fred Cotton (holding measuring stick) judge the car-hopping contest. This truck cleared 36inches to win the competition.

10 Years Ago: Lakota TwoCrow and his fellow peers visited CSU’s Little Shop of Physics to get a glimpse at the phenomenon of the subject of physics and the science field. The Little Shop of Physics visits the Southern Ute Education Department every two years for schools around the area.
