Zuriah Baker stands before Southern Ute Tribal Chairman, Melvin J. Baker as she sworn in at her oath of office to the Sunshine Cloud Smith Youth Advisory Council (SCSYAC) on Friday, Jan. 24 in Chambers. She joins Amos O’John Jr, Malenia Carel, and Auq’uwey O’John who are currently on the Youth Council for a yearlong position to learn from the current Southern Ute Tribal Council and meet the needs of the Southern Ute Tribal youth. The SCSYAC was created in 2003 by Tribal Council to engage Tribal youth in government learning.
