Southern Ute, Ute Mountain Ute and Northern Ute families came together to celebrate the Christmas season on Saturday Dec. 14 at the Sky Ute Casino Event Center. Guests were treated to a meal and a recurring raffle hosted by the Southern Ute Cultural Department. Entertainment and Christmas music was provided by Eddie Box Jr. to get everyone into the holiday spirit. After the dinner and subsequent break, the Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy gave a performance of the traditional Ute creation story and finished with classic Christmas tunes. Santa made a surprise visit and asked children what they wanted for Christmas, marking a close to this year’s program.
