Foxes come full circle

The Southern Ute Wildlife Division released three young red foxes near Lake Capote, Wednesday, June 27. Wildlife staff picked the foxes up near the Sky Ute Downs Event Center in early March, after they were found abandoned at their den. The foxes spent several months at Frisco Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Del Norte, where they were cared for with minimal direct human contact. By the time the kits left the rehab center they had learned to catch and kill prey on their own. Back on the reservation, the foxes will once again have the chance to live their wild lives!
