On Oct. 8, Shining Mountain Health and Wellness hosted a collaborative book event with the Ignacio Community Library to highlight the 1000 book club. New mothers and babies attended the event that provided free books, book club sign-up opportunities, and a chance for the babies to interact. The group read two books together and shared a healthy lunch. The intent of the program is to provide educational materials for new babies, new mothers, and new fathers who are becoming acclimated with parenthood. The group performed Itsy Bitsy Spider for the babies.

Mothers and babies, left to right, Natalie Bravo and Emiliano Rivera, Grace Gonzales and Ace Archuleta, Ramona Etcitty and Caleb Levato, D’Lynn Jacobs and Thunder Jacobs hung out for some reading time at the Ignacio Community Library for the monthly Breastfeeding and Parenting classes offered by the Shining Mountain Health and Wellness Division.
