The purpose of MMIR is for those who have gone missing and those who have been taken to creator too soon. Whether they have addictions, are sober, young, old, male, female, it does not matter. The fact that there had to be an alert specific to indigenous relatives shows that we as native Americans were not respected as important or relevant to our very own lands.

MMIR is not a representative. A representative does the work. Awareness is not a popularity contest, or a way to show off your beauty, but a way to stand in solidarity with those who are suffering.

We have to be out there doing work to find, locate, challenge the system to protect our people, to seek justice where there is no justice. To understand there is no turning back once a family loses a loved one and to stand there and show them that there is a tomorrow.

To hold silence when someone needs that moment.

To hold someone while they cry.

To love someone when they feel there is no love left.

When we ride on Labor Day weekend. We are not celebrating anything or anybody. We are riding in prayer. In unison. To show support to families whether they ride or are unable. We invite all to come along. In a car, truck, a bike, how ever it is you show up to show love to the people.

When you come bring your heart and support, for those who are deeply rooted and effected by MMIR. For them, and for you. Not for anybody outside of the reason you are there. There you will be the strength of the people for the people.
