Ignacio High School celebrates commencement


The Commencement Ceremonies for the graduating Class of 2026 were held at the Ignacio High School, Saturday, May 23. The Invocation was given by Andres Richards to begin the ceremony. Superintendent of Schools, Chris deKay welcomed all in attendance and introduced speakers. Stoney WhiteThunder and Buckshot sang the honor song, before Gerardo Xahuentitla-Flores gave the Commencement Address. Principal Alisha Gullion honored student achievements; Masonic, Senior of the Month, 4.0+ GPA, and Salutatorian, Trace Crane, and Valedictorian, Dillon Brann. Alyssa Atencio and Madison Eggar dedicated parents, deKay presented the class of 2026 and Jim Bulwan accepted the graduates. Board members presented the diplomas to the 34 graduates, before Evan Perkins performed the tassel switch. Asherea Manuelito closed the ceremony with the Benection.
