Jaylyn Muniz
My name is Jaylyn Muniz, and I have been nominated for Southern Ute tribal “Student of the Season” for Spring 2026. I attend Ignacio Elementary School where I am in first grade. My mom is Nancy Muniz.
In school, I enjoy reading the “Pigeon Book”, seeing my friends and learning math. My favorite subjects are P.E. and Science. My positive role models include Ms. Wagner and my big brother Tyler. When I grow up, I would like to be a police officer “to catch the bad guys”.

He is a joy to teach because he tries his best even if his work is something new or challenging,” Mrs. Krispin said. “Jaylyn also has good attendance, and I look forward to seeing his smiling face and warm hugs each day at school. He is respectful to his teachers and models good citizenship. Congratulations and keep up the wonderful work Jaylyn!”

He consistently comes to class excited and ready to learn, bringing a positive attitude that sets a great example for others. He is always willing to volunteer and help his classmates, showing kindness and responsibility in his actions. Each day, he arrives at school with a smile, contributing to a welcoming and encouraging classroom environment. He is always eager to show me every assignment he has completed and is proud of his hard work. He has shown that he is prepared and ready to take on the challenges of 2nd grade. His strong character and enthusiasm for learning truly make him deserving of this recognition. I am truly happy that he is part of my class, and I feel grateful to be part of his journey as he continues to grow and move on to the next grade. It has been a joy to watch his progress and confidence shine. Congratulations, Jaylyn!”
