The Southern Ute Education Department took 16 tribal students on a Friday Field Trip to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., on Oct. 24. On their field trip to Fort Lewis College students enjoyed touring, playing, and having lunch on campus.
The students then participated in a science lesson taught by Fort Lewis College Teacher Education students, learning about chemical reactions, and they made slime.
Students were learning about why leaves change color in the fall, and they were doing a leaf rubbing with different leaves that they found on the campus.
