J&R Director takes Oath of Office

The Southern Ute Indian Tribe’s new Justice & Regulatory Director, Leonard Redhorse III stands alongside his cousin, Consuelo Redhorse whom he asked to perform the official badge pinning following his Oath of Office with Judge Scott Moore, Wednesday, July 2.
Redhorse is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and brings nearly two decades of distinguished service in law enforcement and public safety to his new position.
Following the Oath of Office and badge pinning, the Southern Ute Indian Tribe’s new Justice & Regulatory Director, Leonard Redhorse III stands alongside his cousin, Consuelo Redhorse (who performed the official badge pinning), Executive Officer, Lindsay Box, Southern Ute Chairman Melvin J. Baker, Judge Scott Moore, Police Chief, Michael Barrow and newly sworn in Southern Ute Police Officer Donald Area.
The event was well attended by members of Redhorse’s family, who showed support for this important step in his career, Executive Officer, Lindsay Box, Southern Ute Chairman, Melvin J. Baker, along with members of the Southern Ute tribal community and law enforcement were also present.
Southern Ute Police Officer Donald Area was sworn in by Judge Moore, Wednesday, July 2. The badge Pinning was performed by SUPD Police Chief, Michael Barrow who welcomed him to the tribal organization and congratulated him in his new law enforcement role.
