The Southern Ute Indian Tribe has named Mr. Jeff Engman the Chief Information Officer for the Southern Ute Shared Services (SUSS) in early April 2021.

Previously to joining the Tribe, Engman served as the Regional IT Director for Alterra Mountain Company. His career also includes technical and managerial positions at ConocoPhillips for over 20 years, including 12 years spent working in large scale oil and gas business units. He was also employed for 6-years as the IT Director for San Juan Business Unit in Farmington, NM and another 6 years as an IT Manager/Director working in Dubai U.A.E. for Dubai Petroleum Company, operated by Conoco Inc. Engman also worked for Intel Corporation for over 10 years with the bulk of his tenure leading the www.intel.com infrastructure hosting organization.

“The Southern Ute Indian Tribe is excited to welcome Mr. Engman to the tribal organization. The immense experience that he brings to the organization will be extremely beneficial toward the goals set forth by the leadership,” stated Chairman Melvin J. Baker.

Engman’s initial goals for SUSS are to get to know all the employees and stakeholders, progress the Reservation-wide Broadband Modernization project, assess IT Security and Operation efforts, and get up to speed on key application development initiatives.

Engman graduated from Durango High School and received his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Fort Lewis College.

“My wife (Loretta) and I are really happy to be back living and working in Southern Colorado and I am honored that I was selected to lead SUSS.  We consider this area our home.  I am looking forward leading SUSS to do great things for the Tribe as our dependency on IT in the digital world continues to grow.”
