Southern Ute tribal elder, Ula Gregory leads a group of students from the Ignacio Public Schools and the Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy in a Traditional Dance Class. The class was limited to 15 students, but the popularity drove the numbers higher. The class was held in the Southern Ute Cultural Center & Museum, Wednesday, Nov. 18. Southern Ute HeadStart honored grandparents on Wednesday, Nov. 16, with a turkey dinner. The students also performed short skits and songs. The holidays are a good time for parents to come out to the schools and enjoy lunch with their children. Currently, all the schools in the Ignacio School District celebrate the holidays with a turkey lunch. This photo first appeared in the Nov. 23, 2005, edition of The Southern Ute Drum. 
  The Elders Thanksgiving Dinner drew a full crowd from tribal members last week. The turkey dinner with all the trimmings received great review from those attending.
