WATTS – Benda K. Watts was born January 22, 1957 in Cortez the daughter of Irene Hammond and Ben Pargin Watts Sr. She passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at CommonSpirit Mercy Hospice House at the age of 68. Surviving Benda is her son DeRoy Watts (Alma), Grand Daughter, Karma Watts of Ignacio, Colo.; by her siblings, Benjamin Watts (Trudy) of Farm Creek, Utah, Joyce Frost (Vernon) of Ignacio, Colo., and Jody Hulligan (Jonathan Nez) of Towaoc, Colo.; neice Bendora Wall (Arvin), Towaoc, Colo.; Nephew Adrian Laner Sr (Julie), of Towaoc, Colo,; Grandchildren, Sandora Watts, Mannie Watts, Pharro Laner, and Adrian Laner Jr. and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Benda was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Wayne Cuthair; by her sons, Delroy Johnson and Paul Dutchie III; and by her siblings, Benton Watts, Jack Watts, Joe Hulligan Jr., Jolanda Hulligan, and Sandra Watts. Funeral services for Benda Kaye Watts were held at on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel. Interment was Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Ouray Cemetery.
