Remembering Vietnam Veterans

March 29 is designated as Vietnam Veterans Day, which commemorates the sacrifices of those service men and women who fought in the Vietnam War. The day is part of a national effort to recognize those service members who were denied a proper welcoming upon returning home. On March 29, 1973, the last combat troops were withdrawn from Vietnam, and the last prisoners of war held in North Vietnam arrived back in the United States.
