Obituary: Chris A. Cloud


Chris A. Cloud Dec. 15, 1974 – Sept. 11, 2018

CLOUD – Christopher A. Cloud, 43, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Mercy Regional Medical Center on September 11, 2018. Chris had been battling diabetes for several years.

Chris was born on December 15, 1974 at the Durango Community Hospital. Chris was a member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and lived most of his life in Ignacio. In his younger years, he was a security guard at the Sky Ute Casino, when it was across the street from the Thriftway.

Chris was also an avid Raiders fan. When he was told the Raiders didn’t win, he would say they are still his number one team.

Chris is survived by his mother, Sharon Cloud; sister, Ramada Cloud and his children: Angelica Cloud, Sierra Cuthair and Chris Joseph Cloud, Bryson Cloud, Joyce Williams, D’Arcy Cunningham and Nash Williams and many cousins, aunts and extended family. And like most grandparents, he enjoyed his grandchildren: Gavin, Makalya, Nana, Malaya and Le’veon.

Chris was preceded in death by his son, Chris Stewart Cloud and his father, Roger Stewart Cloud, granddaughters Gemini Chavez-Cloud and Olivia Cloud, Aunt Theatis Cloud Williams and Uncle Nathan Cloud, as well as other relatives who have gone on.

There was a wake on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel in Ignacio. Funeral services were held at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel on Saturday, September 15, 2018, with burial following at Ignacio Cemetery East.
