


The Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy students participated in the Kidney and Diabetes Week, April 16-20, 2007 that was sponsored by the Shining Mountain Diabetes Program and the CHR Division. All students began at the Academy and ended at SunUte’s multi-purpose field for health snacks.
Earth Day “97” was honored by Ignacio Intermediate students by picking up trash along Highway 172, two miles south of Ignacio. The students have been participating in this activity for over 5 years as a part the Adopt a Highway Program. Buddy Taylor, Lucas Atson and Brandon Lucero (l-r) along with other students fro Mrs. Briggs, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Sanders and Mrs. Valdez’s fifth grade classes enjoyed Tuesday afternoon helping the environment.
