Dr. Billy Mills, 1964 Olympic Gold Medalist in the 10,000 meter run, pauses for a photograph at SunUte Community Center with Southern Ute Royalty on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 9. Miss Southern Ute Tyla Olguin and Little Miss Southern Ute Amaya Anderson were on hand to welcome the renowned speaker to the Southern Ute Reservation. Dr. Mills, who is diabetic, delivers a message of inspiration based on character, dignity and pride. On this particular morning, he also spoke about the importance of a good, healthy diet and exercise.
