Obituray: Audrey Ray Frost-Nissen


FROST – Audrey Ray Frost-Nissen, 54, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014  in Durango, Colorado. A wake service will be held at Audrey’s Home, 47 Jefferson Drive, Ignacio and a Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Southern Ute Chapel.  Rev. Kelly Winlock will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Ouray Memorial Cemetery in Ignacio.

Mrs. Frost-Nissen was born March 23, 1960 in Durango, Colorado the daughter of Raymond Frost, Sr. and Matilda Santistevan. She grew up in Ignacio and attended Ignacio Schools. She attended San Juan College and Pueblo Community College. Audrey worked  in custodial for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and also worked in traffic control.

Audrey loved to write, play the harmonica and play pool. She enjoyed a lot of travel to places such as St. Louis, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, California and more. She especially loved her family and her pets, Smokey, Ziggy, and Marley.

She is survived by her children: Daisy Bluestar and Victor Archuleta; Father and stepmother: Raymond Frost, Sr. and Edna Frost; Stepfather: Joe Santistevan; Grandchildren: Marcus, Elisia, Angelo, and Andre Jr.; Siblings: Karen Gilbert, Glen Frost, Raymond Frost, Jr., Rodney Red, Lena Melrose, Roxanne Frost, Emmett Frost, Jeannette Frost, Heather Pardo and Yvonne Phillips; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins, and her beloved pets.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Nissen; her mother: Matilda Santistevan; brothers: Charles Santistevan, Joe Frost and Dale Frost and Sisters: Marian Frost and Bernadine Frost.
