20 Years Ago: During the Rollin’ Deep Car Show, cars, bikes and trikes were on display and a concert featuring NBK was held on the Tribal Campus in Ignacio on Aug. 5. Rollin’ Deep president Manuel Myore (far left) and Vice-president Fred Cotton (holding measuring stick) judge the car-hopping contest. This truck cleared 36inches to win the competition.

Ignacio’s Kruz Pardo (6) launches a 2-RBI triple during the fifth inning of a 10-9 road loss at Dolores on Saturday, April 21. Batting leadoff, Pardo finished 2-for-4 – also including a walk and a 3-RBI double – with one run scored and six knocked in.

Bears break loose from Bobcats, win 15-5

Ignacio’s Bird Red (22) takes a hack from Nucla’s Shelton Morgan while attempting a finger-roll during action inside SunUte Community Center Friday evening, Jan. 26.  Helped by Red’s team-high ten points, the Bobcat JV defeated the Mustang varsity 64-37, dropping NHS – at the time 0-5 in the 2A/1A San Juan Basin – to 0-13 overall.
