Escalante Middle School eighth grader and Southern Ute tribal member, Keelyn Reynolds takes a quick glance at her coaches during wrestling action. Reynolds defeated her opponent earning a win to take fifth place in the 116 lb. girls’ weight class, during the Colorado State Middle School Wrestling Championships in the National Western Sports Complex in Denver, Colo, March 22 and 23. Reynolds finished the two-day tourney with a 4-2 record. Escalante had five wrestlers place in the championships.
Tytan Loudenburg, wrestling at 55 lbs. in the Kinder/First Grade bracket takes an upper position over his opponent during tourney wrestling action. Loudenburg is six years old and attends Ignacio Elementary School.
Ignacio Middle School eighth Grader and Southern Ute tribal member, Neki Box has his hand raised in victory in early action. Other Bobcats seeing action during the championships were, Darren Brunson, Tytan Loudenburg, and older brother Zach Loudenburg.
