Artisan Skateparks workers begin building forms for the vertical wall that will be a main feature of the skatepark located within the SunUte Park east of the community center.
Justin Gorman expressed that each of the Artisan Skateparks' crewmembers come from all over the country and are in fact all skaters.
Working on the bowl, one of the bigger features within the skatepark. The bowl takes shape with rebar and forms being set for the concrete — which will be poured and formed by hand in the next few weeks.
Workers weld the grinding rails, which will soon see plenty of action, positioned on the rim of the skatepark’s large bowl feature.

Skatepark takes shape

The skatepark has come a long way since the official groundbreaking back in June. Forms are being built and erected, as well as rebar being set for concrete work to begin in a few weeks. The skatepark is still on schedule for a Thanksgiving completion date in November. Artisan Skateparks out of Kittyhawk, N.C., are sub-contracted under Weeminuche Construction. All crewmembers of Artisan are skateboarders themselves, and are skilled in all areas of the construction of custom skateparks from New Hampshire to Texas, to Barbados and Sweden, and skateparks in-between.
