Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute veterans bring in the American, Southern Ute, Ute Mountain Ute and Colorado flags with Ute Warrior Leland Collins Jr. to open the night of the Nike N7 men’s basketball game at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Senior forward for the Fort Lewis Men’s Basketball team, Otas Iyekekpolor was wearing the infamous turquoise jersey, to celebrate Native American Heritage Month through a partnership with Nike N7 and select collegiate programs. The jerseys are not only eye catching, they encourage community members to support local tribes.
