The Durango steamers celebrate a goal in action on the ice, that eventually ended in a tie (5-5) against the Jr. Coyotes of Arizona. The Steamers faced off against the Santa Clara Blackhawks, losing (5-1), and losing against New Mexico's Ice Wolves (6-3), but ending the tourney with a positive win against the Oakland Bears (0-2).

The Durango Steamers, youth hockey team, played four games in the Arizona Cactus Cup International Hockey Tournament over the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, Jan. 12-15 in Phoenix, Ariz. The Steamers placed 7th overall in the Squirt Minor Division.
