Olympian sisters talk perseverance to middle school

Tracy and Lanny Barnes have been training in Nordic skiing for years and have recently attended the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
Students of Ignacio Middle School warmly welcomed the two Olympians with applause and admiration.
The sisters discussed with the students about their experiences in the Olympics, the training they faced in order to get there, and how important it is for others to set goals of their own.
Students were welcomed onstage to talk about perseverance and the encouragement of setting life goals.
The sisters brought along various pieces of ski gear to display to the students.

Olympian biathlete sisters, Tracy and Lanny Barnes, paid a visit to Ignacio Middle School on Thursday, March 20 to discuss with the students about the encouragement of reaching personal goals. The twins shared their history with the students as well as their training for Nordic skiing and how it lead to qualifying for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. The sisters showcased their gear and conducted an outdoor activity regarding cross-country skiing.
