Sakarii GoodTracks stands with her first-place trophy in Olathe, Colo. GoodTracks placed 1st in the 10-11 girls Division, shooting 16 of 25 made free throws. She participated in a shoot-out because of a tie. Out of the five free throws in the shoot-out, she went 3 for 5, beating her opponent by one free throw! That one free throw sends her to Salida, Colo. for the State portion of the contest that will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21. Good luck at State Sakarii!

Win or lose, Sakarii GoodTracks and Christian Cosio are all smiles at the Elk Hoop Shoot Contest. Sakarii GoodTracks, a Southern Ute tribal member, and Christian Cosio, attended Districts for the Elk Hoop Shoot Contest in Olathe, Colo., Saturday, Feb. 7. Cosio was in the 12-13 Boys Division with students from the Four Corners, Montrose and Grand Junction areas. Cosio made 16 out of 25 free throws, just missing out on the shoot out for the first-place spot by one free throw. Regardless we are still proud of you Christian!
