Winter Storytelling is a tradition within the Ute community – musician, poet, and author Tanaya Winder was featured as the guest speaker for the Winter Storytelling event hosted by the Cultural Preservation Department. Winder sings an original to a large crowd at SunUte Community Center on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
Guest speaker, Tanaya Winder shares original poems to a crowd of SUIMA students, Tribal members, and local community members on Wednesday, Jan. 21, sharing her life experiences and encouraging others to share positivity, practice sobriety and prioritize their mental health and general well-being.

The Winter Storytelling event featured a performance by Tanaya Winder and a catered lunch for all attendees by Mi Hitos and Amber Baker-Valdez.
