The Southern Ute Agricultural Division would like to share the guidelines for the Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1 & EHV-4) – click link below for the full guidelines from AAEP. An equine virus outbreak has been linked to an event in Central Texas per news reports. EHM is neurologic syndrome caused from the EHV- virus. EHV-1 is spread from horse to horse through contact with nasal discharge or inhalation of aerosolized respiratory droplets. If your horse(s) are sick, please contact your Veterinary for diagnostic testing, sampling, and treatment.
