A new Jr. Miss Southern Ute and Jr. Miss Southern Ute Alternate were crowned on Thursday, Oct. 16, joining the other ambassadors for this upcoming year. Shayne White Thunder is crowned Jr. Miss Southern Ute and Cyana Whiteskunk is crowned Jr. Miss Southern Ute Alternate following a pageant held at the Multi-Purpose Facility. Each contestant vied for the titles before a panel of judges and performed in public speaking, traditional dress, Q&A, Ute history, dancing, and talent categories. Friends, family, and visiting royalty gathered to share their support for each candidate, the newly crowned ambassadors join the other members of Southern Ute Royalty and assume their duties for the next year.
Current reigning members of the Southern Ute Royalty stand with newly crowned Jr. Miss Southern Ute, Shayne White Thunder and Jr. Miss Southern Ute Alternate, Cyana Whiteskunk.
Shayne White Thunder gave a historic presentation demonstrating her knowledge of the Ute people and their relationship with horses, during the talent portion of the pageant.
Cyana Whiteskunk is crowned the new Jr. Miss Southern Ute Alternate by current reigning Miss Southern Ute, Zuriah Baker and Miss Southern Ute Alternate, Autumn Sage.
Shayne White Thunder is crowned the new Jr. Miss Southern Ute for the 2025-2026 year.

Contestant, Cyana Whiteskunk demonstrated how she crafts miniature ribbon shirts, skirts, and dresses for her stuffed animals during the talent portion of the Jr. Miss Southern Ute Pageant.
