This month, we have some exciting programs you can attend, including: the Instrument Petting Zoo on Wednesday, July 16, Make Your Own Horchata Class on Tuesday, July 15, our popular Virtual Reality Travel Program, which visits Slovakia this month, featuring a special guest from the country along with some great food to try.
We love introducing new programs each month, but we also host regular weekly book clubs and activities for you as well. If you enjoy lively discussions, consider joining our Mystery Book Club or engaging in imaginative conversations with our Science Fiction Book Club. Both meet once a month. We’re also excited to introduce a brand-new group: the Cook Book Club. Stop by this month to pick up the cookbook of the month and join us on August 5 to share a dish from it.
For those who love to create, we have workshops designed just for you! Join us for the Sewing Workshop every Monday at 1:30 p.m., unleash your artistic flair at the Open Art Studio on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m., or come knit with the ICL Knitters Group every Thursday at 1 p.m. We can’t wait to see your creativity shine!
Some helpful free community programs we host are Greg Dotson from La Plata County Veteran Services and his dedicated office hours on the first Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, don’t miss our free legal clinic with volunteer attorneys, available online on the third Tuesday of each month from 4 to 5:40 p.m. – just remember to RSVP by calling 970-563-9287. Or if you’re seeking emotional support, our Grief Support Group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m., led by the wonderful Sara Barnes, LPC, from Hospice of Mercy. No commitment is needed; just come when you feel like it!
We have plenty of fun activities planned for our younger patrons as well! Bring your little ones to Storytime on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for delightful crafts and stories. Wednesdays at 10 a.m. bring them art projects and activities at Summer Reading! Don’t forget to join us for our take on the Amazing Race at Teen Night on July 17 at 6 p.m. It’s going to be a fantastic evening!
Finally, be sure to explore the IDEA LAB – our vibrant space for hands-on learning and creativity! Join Mr. Ron, our amazing IDEA LAB Educator, for exciting classes in our Makerspace. Every Friday and Saturday this month from 1 to 3 p.m., we’ll be offering Video Production and Stop Motion Animation classes! We’re also thrilled to host a Glowforge, Tile Engraving, and Coloring Engravings Introduction Class on July 16 – sign up at 970-563-9287.
