To further streamline emergency response communications and enhance service delivery, Los Pinos Fire Protection District began utilizing dispatch services provided by the Durango Emergency Communications Center starting on Wednesday, May 28. This transition represents the Los Pinos Fire Protection District’s continued commitment to improved coordination, efficiency, and service provision tailored to the specific needs of their jurisdiction.
By consolidating dispatch services, the Los Pinos Fire Protection District will benefit from increased coordination and communications with mutual aid partners in the region, fostering better teamwork, effectiveness, and response times during emergency incidents.
While this change introduces new procedures and practices, it also ensures the Los Pinos Fire Protection District’s continued provision of excellent service to all members of the community. Los Pinos Fire Protection District acknowledges and respects the importance of community relationships during this transition and is committed to maintaining trust and transparency throughout the process.
Los Pinos Fire is asking for some minor assistance in this transition:
- The transition is effective as of Wednesday, May 28 at 6 p.m.
- Please update the change of notification numbers if you have a third-party medical alarm or fire alarm system.
- Notification for performing controls burns can now be completed through www.durangoco.gov/burnform or by calling Station #1 (970-563-9501) during normal business hours (8a.m.-5p.m.) Monday- Friday.
- Durango Emergency Communications Center non-emergency, call 970-385-2900.
- Archuleta County Combined Dispatch Center non-emergency, call 970-731-2160.
- For emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
