We’re kicking off April with the Indie Film Popup Screening of Free For All: The Public Library! You know them, you love them, now find out how our public libraries came to be a sanctuary for Americans everywhere. Join us for a screening + community-driven conversation of Free for All: The Public Library on Tuesday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m. Find more details about the screening at ignaciolibrary.org. This month, we also have fun programs like Make Your Own: Crepes on April 15 and Estate Planning 101 on April 21, as well as an Earth Day celebration at the library in partners with The Sierra Club and local IHS students on April 22!
Each month we have great new programs and events for you, but our regular weekly programs and book clubs are always looking for new members too. Join us for intriguing discussions in our Mystery Book Club or dive into imaginative conversations at our Science Fiction Book Club.
If you enjoy crafting and creating, we offer workshops that are perfect for letting your creativity shine! Join the Sewing Workshop every Monday at 1:30 p.m., tap into your artistic side at the Open Art Studio on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m., or come knit with the ICL Knitters Group every Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Community Room.
We take pride in supporting our veterans! Greg Dotson from La Plata County Veteran Services is here for dedicated office hours every first Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plus, don’t miss our free legal clinic with volunteer attorneys, available online every third Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 5:40 p.m. Be sure to RSVP by calling (970)563-9287. If you are looking for some emotional support, our Grief Support Group meets the first Tuesday of every month at 3 p.m., led by Sara Barnes, LPC, from Hospice of Mercy—no regular commitment is needed.
We have plenty of opportunities for our younger patrons as well! Bring your little ones to Storytime on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for fun songs, crafts, and stories. On the first Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m., get ready for hands-on fun with Silly Science. Middle and high school students are invited to the Teen Café every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. for snacks, homework help, and enjoyable activities. Make sure to mark your calendars for our action-packed monthly Teen Night on April 28, featuring exciting themes and delicious food!
Do not forget to explore the IDEA LAB—our vibrant space for hands-on learning and skill-building for all ages. Join Mr. Ron, our fantastic IDEA LAB Educator, who will lead a variety of engaging classes in our Makerspace.
