Each month, we plan exciting new programs and events designed for you to learn something new or enjoy some fun! But do not forget about our regular weekly programs and book clubs, which are free to join at any time. Our Mystery Book Club meets twice a month for those seeking thrills and chills, while Science Fiction fans can gather for book club once a month.
Crafters and artists enjoy developing their skills at the following workshops: Sewing Workshop: Every Monday at 1:30 p.m. Open Art Studio: Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. And ICL Knitters Group: join our wonderful group of knitters every Thursday in our Community Room at 1 p.m.
Thanks to Greg Dotson with La Plata County Veteran Services, we offer regular office hours for Veterans on the first Wednesday of every month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, we host a free legal clinic once a month for patrons. Volunteer attorneys will be available online to answer questions, help fill out forms, and explain the processes for civil (non-criminal) legal issues every third Tuesday from 4 to 5:40 p.m. Please call ahead to sign up or for more information at 970-563-9287.
We also have plenty of engaging programs for younger patrons! Our youth programs include Storytime: Tuesdays at 10 a.m. – a fun, interactive session with songs, crafts, and stories to help develop a lifelong love of reading. Silly Science: The first Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m., where we create a fun, hands-on science experiment. Teen Café: For middle and high school students, enjoy snacks, homework help, crafts, movies, games, and more every Wednesday after school at 4:30 p.m. Teen Night: A monthly program with new themes, activities, and dinners for teens; visit our website, ignaciolibrary.org, for more details.
The IDEA LAB is stocked with equipment and programs so patrons of all ages can learn and practice skills for the modern work environment. Mr. Ron, our IDEA LAB Educator, has an exciting schedule of classes lined up this year in our Makerspace. Join us every Friday and Saturday this month from 1 to 4 p.m. to learn and experiment with Alternative Energy Systems. ICL can also meet your needs with one-on-one and small-group use and coaching.
