This year’s recipient of the Elbert J. Floyd Award is Jacoby Scott. The award was presented to Scott with fellow students and family members in attendance, Thursday, May 16 in the Tribal Council Chambers.

Elberta Thompson, Scott’s great-grandmother, shares her feelings of pride and gratitude for her great-grandson and his achievements so far in his education. On Thursday, May 16, Scott accepted the Elbert J. Floyd Award along with gifts from the Southern Ute Montessori Academy and SunUte Community Center.

Scott stands alongside his family and the Southern Ute Tribal Council during a reception in the Hall of Warriors, which took place after the Elbert J. Floyd award presentation, Thursday, May 18.
