Medicare info-share and ice cream social to be held in Bayfield 


Join with others interested in learning about Medicare at this ice cream social on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m., held at Pine River Library located at 395 Bayfield Center Dr. in Bayfield, Colo. Ice cream bar opens at 5:45 p.m. Overview and Q&A at 6 p.m. This is a free event. 

Kaylie Smith and Bernice Madril from the Durango La Plata County Department of Senior Services will present an overview of Medicare and take questions from attendees.  

The Info-Share is for those approaching retirement age, those who have questions about how and when to enroll, and those already enrolled who may have questions about their options.

The Medicare Info-Share is organized by Thrive in Place (TIP), a project of Pine River Shares, that provides peer support and resources for ‘aging in place’ in the Pine River Valley. TIP members hold meetings to listen to and engage with vulnerable residents to develop resources that support the needs of these peers. The Info-Share is made possible through a grant from The Next Fifty.
