Donations through the Community Foundation approached $4 Million in 2022

In 2022, the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado infused $3,961,543 million into Southwest Colorado’s nonprofit community.

Last year marked a year of growth for the Community Foundation, including hiring new staff and facilitating new grant sources, such as the La Plata and Archuleta County funds. Strong community impact is demonstrated through the Foundation’s grants-to-operations ratio: $7.42 in grants for every dollar the Foundation spent in operations in 2022.

“Having spearheaded community donations at the Foundation for more than ten years, I am often in awe of the generosity of Southwest Colorado,” says Briggen Wrinkle, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “We are strategically funding responsive programming for many community needs, such as youth mental health support.” La Plata
