Prior to the meeting with Hickenlooper, the group toured the Center of Southwest Studies exhibit “As Seeds, We Grow: Student Reflections on Resilience” on the impacts of the Native American Boarding School era.
Heather Shotten, the Fort Lewis College new VP for Diversity Affairs, also participated in the tour of the exhibit. Shotten and Council Member Linda Baker listen to a featured artist explain the symbolism and meaning behind their piece in the exhibit.
