The week of April 11 recognized as Telecommunications Week

The week of April 11-17 is designated nationally to recognize our 911 Dispatchers. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we haven’t been able to celebrate them like we should.

These men and women are a first responder’s lifeline. They rarely get seen or recognized. We have a great group of dispatchers at the Southern Ute Police Dept.

They come from all walks of life. Some are parents, grandparents, traditional dancers, gamers and musicians. Most of them are local community members or live nearby.

SUPD currently has an opening for a dispatcher. Being a dispatcher is more than just a job … it’s an experience.
