Southern Ute Agriculture Division Head, Kevin Mallow and Field Technician, Phillip Carrillo wait for more community members show up to the USDA’s “Farmers to Families” program that distributes food boxes to all community members through a collaboration with the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and the Southern Ute Tribe.
Food boxes that were donated to the Ute Mountain Ute and Southern Ute tribes contained fresh vegetables, meat and dairy products. All boxes were donated by the USDA and were available on a first come first serve basis. The program ends Friday, March 26.
