Commercial container service update related to COVID-19

Effective immediately, WCA route personnel are not permitted to collect any waste placed outside of containers. This safety measure is based on recommendations from public health officials and our commitment to minimize possible employee exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Commercial route drivers have been instructed not to leave their vehicles to collect any materials outside containers. WCA will continue to monitor the situation and make any required changes.

Given the “Stay At Home” mandates in many of the markets we serve, our communities are facing increased residential trash volumes and overflowing trash containers. WCA realizes that our new policy be particularly challenging for apartment complexes and other multi-family customers. We encourage those customers to contact their WCA sales representative or our customer service personnel to discuss containers and/or service level changes needed for compliance.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we focus on our goals of providing outstanding essential service, while protecting our employees. As always, we want to remind our customers that yard waste, household chemicals, construction materials, automotive parts, electronics and related materials cannot be disposed of in WCA containers.
