Valdez captured an image of a bald eagle looking directly into the lens of his camera on the Southern Ute Reservation.

A golden eagle is perched overlooking the valley, perhaps looking for a meal.

Southern Ute tribal member Jeremiah Valdez photographed these majestic birds of prey in their natural habitat, alongside County Road 516 and 517 just north of Ignacio.
