HCCA hosts Veterans Breakfast

Hope Community Christian Academy (HCCA) students perform “Thank You” song for those in attendance, the students held poster boards adorned with praise and photos of Veteran family members.
The Veterans Breakfast, “honoring local men and women who have bravely served our country and citizens,” as stated on the program.
Hope Community Christian Academy students made notes and cards expressing thanks and handed them to the veterans in attendance.
J. Paul Brown (left) Republican member of the Colorado House of Representatives, was joined by community members in the chow line, served by the Hope Community Christian Academy (HCCA). The meal was donated by Farmer’s Fresh Market, and the coffee provided by Starbucks. Family members and HCCA staff provided fresh fruit and baked goods.
An Honor Wall dedication took place after performances by the Hope Community Christian Academy students. The wall was created by Phil Abbot. He used items including, uniforms that were donated by veterans, plaques made by the Bayfield High School woodshop class, and portions of the Veterans 2014 Calendar designed by the Southern Ute Drum.

Silver SPRUCE Academy students held a flag raising ceremony after the Veterans breakfast. The students lowered the American flag and raised a new flag donated by Phil Abbot, to be flown in front of the ELHI Building.
The new flag was hoisted in front of the ELHI Building by the Silver SRUCE academy students.
Silver SPRUCE Academy students led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Hope Community Christian Academy (HCCA), along with Silver SPRUCE Academy, ELHI and Phil Abbot hosted a Veterans Breakfast, Friday, Nov. 10 at the ELHI Community Center.
