Young leaders unite at The National Unity Conference, held at the Denver Convention Center, July 6-10. Natelle Thompson and Jared Ruybal traveled with Lakota Collins, Issac Suina and Elijah Weaver to Denver to unite with other youth interested in taking their leadership to the next level. During the conference they attended several trainings to help them develop skills in public speaking, team building and leadership. The lecture on racism and anti-bullying gave the young leaders the know how to stick up to bullying and be a H.E.R.O (healing, empowering, respect, overcome), while also educating them on different types of bullying and issues that develop within an individual who has been bullied. The youth not only got the education they need for leadership skills, the Unity Conference gave them tools to continue their pursuit to be strong and healthy leaders in their community.
