Purpose

This information is provided to tribal member families as a means to contact appropriate Tribal Department for assistance in preparing funeral arrangements and other requirements associated with a family member’s death.

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Burial sites. Grounds Maintenance will meet family at the cemetery to pick out the site. Grounds Maintenance and Construction Services will then have staff available the morning of the burial and will work closely with the funeral home to complete the grave site covering.

EMERGENCY FAMILY SERVICES

Assists with transportation for in-coming immediate family members, either by bus, plane, or mileage. Funds will come out of the family members allotted $600 Emergency Assistance funds. If the Tribal Member does not have any money left in their individual accounts EFS cannot assist with transportation. Immediate family members includes, mother, father, sister, brother and grandparents.

Floral Arrangements. Arrangements will be made for a casket spray OR flowers to be delivered to the Mortuary. Tribal members may pick their choice of arrangements not to exceed $500.

Food Purchase. Food may be purchased for a wake up to but not exceeding $200. A voucher signed by the Chairman will be provided.
