Barbara Weaver wears many hats for SUCAP’s Road Runner Transportation Division, including Clerical Support, Dispatch and a Driver. Weaver is the first recipient of the SUCAP ABCD Award for employee outstanding performance.

In early 2016, Road Runner was impacted by the nearly simultaneous loss of the Division Director and the Lead Driver. stepped up, accepting other duties and monitoring tasks assigned to other employees to ensure that critical functions in the division did not get dropped. She recognized the gaps in knowledge that were created when the division lost the individuals holding its two key positions and provided information to new staff and temporary staff so that correct and timely actions were taken. Barbara assumed the mantle of the “go-to” person in the division; when she didn’t know the answer to a question, she took it upon herself to find out.

In doing so, Barbara provided a sense of confidence and dedication to other staff in the division that inspired them to step up as well. The result was that the division remained stable during several months when the loss of leadership could have caused major problems. SUCAP is proud to have dedicated employees like Barbara and they invite you to join with them in congratulating Barbara for a job “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty”.

Barbara received her award at the SUCAP Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, Feb. 2.
